Danico Chat – Persian Live Chat

Wopisanje

Danico Chat gives Persian-speaking visitors a direct way to contact your team from your website. Visitors use a right-to-left chat widget, and your team reads and answers conversations inside the WordPress dashboard.

The plugin runs on your own WordPress installation. It does not require a Danico account, an API key, a paid subscription, or an external chat service. Conversation data is stored in your site’s database.

Chat with visitors

  • Persian, right-to-left visitor widget and operator interface.
  • Optional visitor name and phone number before starting a conversation.
  • Plain-text messages, including Persian text and emoji supported by your site and browser.
  • Resume a conversation in the same browser using a locally stored access token.
  • Choose the widget title, welcome message, offline message, and accent color.
  • Set the displayed online or offline status manually.

Give your team a dedicated chat workspace

  • Read and reply to conversations from the WordPress dashboard.
  • See unread counts, filter open or closed conversations, and browse a paginated conversation list.
  • Close and reopen conversations.
  • Administrators can delete a conversation and its messages.
  • Create a user with the dedicated Chat Operator role. A user with only this role sees the chat panel in wp-admin and is redirected there after login.
  • Plugin settings and conversation deletion are restricted to administrators with the manage_options capability.

Keep conversations on your site

The plugin stores conversations in dedicated WordPress database tables and loads its scripts, styles, and images locally. It makes no automatic requests to Danico or another external service.

New messages are requested every five seconds while the relevant chat screen is open and the browser tab is visible. There is no separate WebSocket server to configure. Polling depends on your site’s REST API and hosting resources.

Danico’s separate professional product is introduced on this plugin’s settings page. Following that link is optional; the free live chat works independently.

Privacy

When a visitor starts a conversation, the plugin stores any name and phone number they provide, their chat messages, message timestamps, conversation status, unread counts, and a hash of a random conversation access token. Operator replies also store the replying user’s WordPress user ID.

The visitor’s browser stores the conversation ID and access token in local storage so that the conversation can be resumed in the same browser. Clearing that storage removes the browser’s ability to resume the conversation, but does not delete the server-side messages.

The plugin does not store IP addresses in its chat tables. For abuse prevention, it uses a WordPress transient keyed by a hash derived from the request IP. Its expiration is set to one minute when the transient is updated. No chat data is automatically sent to Danico or another external service.

Users with chat permissions can view conversations, including any optional contact details. Administrators can delete individual conversations and their messages. There is no automatic retention schedule in this release. Site owners should explain their use of chat and retention policy in their site’s privacy notice.

Source Code

All PHP, JavaScript, and CSS source is included in this plugin. The files in assets/js/ and assets/css/ are the editable source files loaded directly by WordPress. There are no generated bundles, minified alternatives, third-party libraries, or build tools required to modify this release.

FAQ

Does the plugin need an external account or a subscription?

No. The live chat runs on your site and does not require an external account, API key, or subscription.

Does this plugin answer messages with AI?

No. Messages are answered by your human operators. Danico’s separate professional product is described on the plugin settings page.

What can the Chat Operator role do?

It can view conversations, reply to messages, and close or reopen conversations. It cannot change plugin settings or delete conversations. Users assigned only this role are confined to the chat page in wp-admin. Users with additional roles retain the access granted by those roles.

Is online status detected automatically?

No. The site administrator selects the displayed online or offline status manually. Offline status changes the greeting; visitors can still leave messages for your team.

Are the name and phone fields required?

No. Both are optional. Phone number format and ownership are not validated; the plugin only limits the length of the entered text.

How quickly do new messages appear?

The visitor widget and operator screen poll for updates every five seconds while visible. Actual delivery also depends on your server and network connection. This release has no email or background push notifications.

What happens when a conversation is closed?

Visitors cannot send new messages in a closed conversation. An operator can reopen it from the dashboard.

Why is the widget missing or unable to connect?

The theme must call wp_footer() for the widget to render. The WordPress REST API must be reachable. Check whether a security plugin, hosting rule, or cache configuration is blocking the chat endpoints or serving stale chat responses. The namespace is /wp-json/danico-live-chat/v1/.

Can I use the plugin without WooCommerce?

Yes. WooCommerce is not required.

What happens to conversations when the plugin is deactivated or deleted?

Conversation data and settings remain in the database. Deactivation or deletion does not automatically erase them. Administrators can delete individual conversations from the chat panel before removing the plugin.
