ARN Smart Visitor Intent

Wopisanje

ARN Smart Visitor Intent helps WordPress site owners understand why visitors came before the first conversation begins.

A lightweight sticky bar opens into an intent panel where visitors can select their reason for visiting and optionally share contact information. Built-in display rules and triggers control when the panel appears, while analytics reveal views, opens, responses, dismissals, contact activity, and intent distribution.

The plugin also includes privacy and consent tools, CSV export, email notifications, WordPress Mail and SMTP delivery options, plus a separate contact widget for Call, Email, and WhatsApp.

External services

The plugin works without external services. Two optional features use them:

AI insights (ARN Free AI). This plugin does not contact any ARN server. AI features are off until a site administrator turns on AI Insights in Visitor Intent > Settings and sets up a provider under Settings > ARN Free AI.

When an administrator chooses a provider and enters their own API key, the plugin sends the text needed for the requested task to that provider only, at the moment the task runs. The API key is stored encrypted in the WordPress database. No data is sent to any other provider.

Requests are sent from your server only when:

  • a visitor response is saved while AI Insights is on: the response fields allowed in the AI privacy settings (by default the selected intent and the message; name, email, LinkedIn, and company only if you enable them), processed in the background;
  • an administrator generates AI Insights: aggregate visitor statistics (counts only);
  • an administrator generates the website diagnosis: Google Analytics and Search Console comparison figures read through Site Kit, such as metrics and the names of pages, queries, countries, devices, and channels;
  • an administrator clicks „Test connection“ (a fixed test prompt, no site content) or „Load models“ (the provider’s model list) under Settings > ARN Free AI.

  • Mistral AI: https://legal.mistral.ai/terms , https://legal.mistral.ai/terms/privacy-policy
  • OpenAI-compatible endpoint: requests go to the address the administrator enters; that service’s own terms apply.

If WordPress AI is chosen instead, requests go through the provider connected in WordPress (Settings > Connectors) under that provider’s terms.

The bundled ARN Free AI module keeps its settings in the arn_free_ai_settings option and daily AI usage totals (no prompts, answers or keys) in the {prefix}arn_free_ai_usage database table.

Google Site Kit (Google Analytics and Search Console). Website Intelligence and Growth Intelligence do not contact Google themselves. They read reports from the Google Site Kit plugin through your site’s own REST API on the server; Site Kit connects to Google with your site’s own connection. See the Site Kit plugin and Google’s terms (https://policies.google.com/terms) and privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

The recommendations block, the visitor panel, and the contact widget do not use external services.

FAQ

Is this a contact form plugin?

Not primarily. The plugin is designed to capture visitor intent first and optionally collect contact information afterward.

Can I display the panel only on selected pages?

Yes. You can use homepage, sitewide, include, exclude, and post-type display rules.

Can I control when the panel appears?

Yes. Instant, delay, scroll, exit intent, page views, time on site, shortcode, and JavaScript triggers are available.

Does it support GDPR or KVKK consent?

The plugin provides configurable consent and policy-display tools. Site owners remain responsible for configuring them according to their legal requirements.

Does it include WhatsApp?

Yes. The Contact Widget supports Call, Email, and WhatsApp actions without requiring another floating contact plugin.

Does internal SMTP replace my existing SMTP plugin?

No. You can continue using WordPress Mail or an existing SMTP plugin. Internal SMTP is optional.

Where are responses stored?

Responses are stored in WordPress and can be reviewed, exported as CSV, cleaned manually, or removed automatically according to your settings. Only administrators can view responses.

What do I need for Website and Growth Intelligence?

The Google Site Kit plugin, installed and connected to Google Analytics and Search Console. This plugin reads the data from Site Kit on your own site.

What does the recommendations block store?

Nothing until the visitor agrees. With consent, interest categories are stored in the visitor’s browser (localStorage) and a consent cookie (arnvisiox_growth_consent) is set for 30 days. Logged-in users see the general list. Global Privacy Control disables personalization.

Do I need to clear my page cache after updating?

Only when you update from a 2.0.x release: clear your page cache so visitors load the frontend script introduced in 2.1.0. Submissions from pages cached with the 2.0.x script are rejected until the page is refreshed. Updating from 2.1.0 or later does not change the frontend scripts.

My site is behind Cloudflare or another proxy. Which visitor address is used?

By default the direct connection (REMOTE_ADDR), which behind a proxy is the proxy’s address, so all visitors share one response limit. Under Visitor Intent > Settings > Limits & Proxy, choose „Behind a proxy or CDN“, the header your proxy sets, and the proxy’s IP addresses or CIDR ranges. The header is read only for requests that come from those addresses.

Where do I set the AI provider and API key?

Under Settings > ARN Free AI, the shared AI screen of ARN Free plugins: provider, your own API key, model, token prices, usage history and monthly limits. AI Insights itself and the AI privacy choices stay in Visitor Intent > Settings.

Do my AI settings move to ARN Smart Visioix (Pro)?

No. ARN Smart Visioix uses its own AI connection under Settings > ARN Center and does not read the ARN Free AI settings, so enter your AI provider API key there again after switching. The AI usage history recorded by this plugin stays under Settings > ARN Free AI and is not shown in the Pro Cost & Usage screen.

What is removed when I delete the plugin?

Sites where ARN Smart Visioix (Pro) is active are left untouched. On the other sites scheduled tasks are always removed, and responses, settings and analytics are kept unless „Delete all plugin data when the plugin is deleted“ is on in the plugin settings; with it on, the plugin’s tables, options and transients are removed on each site where the option is on. The shared ARN Free AI settings, saved API keys and usage history of those sites are removed too, but only when no other installed ARN Free plugin (active or not) still uses them.

Changelog

2.1.0

  • New: Growth Intelligence page with data health and completed-period comparison for Google Analytics and Search Console (via Site Kit): source health, accessible charts with data tables, sustained traffic drop alerts, verified findings, declining search CTR pages, and largest page, channel, and device changes.
  • New: Visioix Recommendations block and [arnvisiox_recommendations] shortcode with optional, consent-based personalization stored only in the visitor’s browser (30 days, no AI on the frontend).
  • New: AI features use the bundled ARN Free AI module and its Settings > ARN Free AI screen, shared by ARN Free plugins: choose OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Kimi, xAI Grok, Mistral, an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or WordPress AI (WordPress 7.0 or later); token prices, monthly limits and usage history in one place.
  • New: Settings > Limits & Proxy. The number of responses per visitor network every 10 minutes is adjustable (default 20).
  • New: daily limits for notification emails and AI analyses of responses (default 200 each). Responses are always saved; once a limit is reached, no more emails are sent or no more responses are analysed until the next day. Responses that were not analysed show the AI status „Skipped“.
  • New: visitor activity events are limited to 300 requests per visitor network every 10 minutes; further events are ignored without an error.
  • New: sites behind a proxy or CDN can read the visitor address from X-Forwarded-For, X-Real-IP, CF-Connecting-IP or True-Client-IP, only for requests from the trusted proxy addresses entered in the settings. The default remains the direct connection.
  • Changed: the provider, API key, model, endpoint and token price fields moved from Visitor Intent > Settings to Settings > ARN Free AI. Existing settings, the encrypted key and the AI usage history move automatically the first time an administrator opens a wp-admin page after the update; the old Visioix AI usage table is removed after the import is verified.
  • Changed: Visitor Intelligence > Cost & Usage and the AI usage summary read the usage recorded by ARN Free AI (imported history included); the website diagnosis is now counted too.
  • Changed: busy provider answers (HTTP 429 and 5xx) of the website diagnosis are retried automatically a limited number of times; background response analysis keeps its own queue retries.
  • Security: visitor responses are visible only to administrators; submissions use single-use tickets, size limits, and per-IP and per-session quotas; the visit reason must be one of the configured options.
  • Improved: visitor events are sent in batches and daily counters are stored atomically; events and counters are kept for two years.
  • Improved: spreadsheet-safe CSV export (PHP 8.4 compatible) and a PHP 8.4 deprecation fix.
  • Improved: upgrade and maintenance tasks no longer run on every dashboard request.
  • Improved: deactivation removes all scheduled tasks; uninstall always removes scheduled tasks, and with „delete data on uninstall“ it removes all plugin tables, options, and transients on every site of a network; sites where ARN Smart Visioix is active are left untouched.
  • Fix: on sites that use the SQLite database, such as WordPress Playground and WordPress Studio, the abandonment section of Visitor Intelligence shows its numbers and close reasons instead of a database error. Sites on MySQL or MariaDB show the same results as before.
  • Removed: the Visioix „Test Connection“ button; use „Test connection“ under Settings > ARN Free AI.
  • Note: ARN Smart Visioix (Pro) uses its own AI connection; after switching to Pro, enter your AI provider API key there again.
