Categories, tags and custom fields come along too, except any taxonomies or custom fields you leave out. Add a prefix or suffix to copied titles, for example \"(copy)\".<\/p>\n\n<h4>Who can copy<\/h4>\n\n<p>Choose the roles that can copy. People can only copy what they are allowed to read and create, and a private or password-protected item also needs permission to edit it, so copying never reveals content someone could not already see.<\/p>\n\n<h4>Minimal<\/h4>\n\n<p>No tracking, no external requests, no upsells. The settings screen uses WordPress's own interface and loads nothing extra.<\/p>\n\n<h3>Credits<\/h3>\n\n<p>Versions 1.x were built on code from Duplicate Post by Enrico Battocchi (GPLv2 or later). Version 2.0 is a new codebase that keeps Duplicate Post's <code>_dp_original<\/code> and <code>copy_posts<\/code> conventions so existing copies and permissions keep working.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<ol>\n<li>Install the plugin from <strong>Plugins \u2192 Add New<\/strong>, or upload the plugin folder to <code>\/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>Activate it. Administrators and Editors can copy straight away; posts and pages are switched on.<\/li>\n<li>Change what is copied, and by whom, at <strong>Settings \u2192 Duplicator<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<!--section=faq-->\n<dl>\n<dt id=\"where%20is%20the%20copy%20menu%20button%3F\"><h3>Where is the Copy menu button?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>On Appearance \u2192 Menus, next to Save Menu, once \"Menus\" is ticked in the settings. Block themes use Navigation menus instead: tick \"Navigation Menus\" under content types and copy them like posts.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"can%20it%20copy%20widgets%3F\"><h3>Can it copy widgets?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Not any more. Since WordPress 5.8 widgets are blocks, and the block widget editor has its own Duplicate command in each block's options menu.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20a%20copy%20keep%20its%20link%20to%20the%20original%3F\"><h3>Does a copy keep its link to the original?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes. Each copy records which item it came from. You can show this as a column or after the title in lists, and remove the link from the copy's edit screen.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"i%20use%20yoast%20duplicate%20post%20as%20well.%20do%20they%20conflict%3F\"><h3>I use Yoast Duplicate Post as well. Do they conflict?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. Both plugins record the original in the same way and use the same <code>copy_posts<\/code> capability, so copies made by either show their original in both, and uninstalling this plugin leaves the capability in place while Yoast Duplicate Post is active.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"are%20there%20hooks%20for%20developers%3F\"><h3>Are there hooks for developers?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><ul>\n<li><code>lct_duplicator_after_copy<\/code> (action): after a post or media file is copied. Receives the copy's ID and the original post.<\/li>\n<li><code>lct_duplicator_after_menu_copy<\/code> (action): after a menu is copied. Receives the new and original menu IDs.<\/li>\n<li><code>lct_duplicator_excluded_meta<\/code> (filter): the meta keys not copied. A key ending in <code>*<\/code> matches any suffix.<\/li>\n<li><code>lct_duplicator_get_clone_post_link()<\/code> and <code>lct_duplicator_clone_post_link()<\/code>: template tags for a copy link in a theme.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"is%20there%20a%20pro%20version%3F\"><h3>Is there a Pro version?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. The plugin is free and open source, with no paid tier.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"where%20do%20i%20get%20support%3F\"><h3>Where do I get support?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Use the plugin's support forum on WordPress.org.<\/p><\/dd>\n\n<\/dl>\n\n<!--section=changelog-->\n<h4>2.0.0<\/h4>\n\n<p>Rebuilt from scratch.
